System Integration
OP-TEC Systems supplies effective automation solutions for batch and continuous process applications, offering long-term commitment and support to all current and future clients.
We recognise that the success of integrating plant-wide operations rests on the competence of the company providing such services. Meeting the customer's needs are the objective, advanced technology provides the tools and joint ownership of the project ensures success.
Even the smallest measurement and control system requires multi-discipline skills if it is to be designed and built on time and within budget. OP-TEC engineers work as an integral part of the Client's own project team to identify the key project objectives. They provide the technical skills to develop a meaningful system specification, considering process optimisation, energy efficiency, SPC, repeatability, maintainability, management information, integration with 3rd party systems, cost of ownership, fault tolerance, security etc.
Enterprise-wide control system integration is one of the key elements in meeting the challenges of highly competitive markets. Users look for 'open' solutions that can integrate process control and business systems, provide investment protection for expansion and accommodate technological advances.
Projects are managed and implemented by our own engineers, and if appropriate, OP-TEC staff can be assigned as a project resource, to work within the client's project team.
OP-TEC Systems provides specialised systems for continuous, batch, and optimising control, balanced with application software and services which support their respective users.
Skilled and dedicated project teams, committed to the innovative use of technology, bring a depth of application experience to bear whilst implementing advanced and effective control solutions across a wide variety of industries.
Our solutions provide:
- Automation for efficiency and process optimisation for improved product quality
- Integration of real time production data with management information systems
- An open growth path, addressing issues beyond control itself
- Flexibility for integration with other equipment
- Low cost of ownership
Once the User Requirement Specification has been refined and agreed with the Client, our extensive experience of automation projects enables us to produce a detailed Functional Design Specification following a structured design methodology. This document covers all aspects of the system to be implemented, from high-level management computing, through automation and control equipment to field instrumentation.
A cost-effective hardware design is then produced using appropriate database and CAD techniques, and the required system hardware is procured from the appropriate manufacturers/distributors. System assembly and integration (including the integration of specialist sub-systems from other suppliers) is managed by OP-TEC to ensure compatibility with the defined objectives.
Application software is written using tried and tested modules wherever possible. Project-specific software is rigorously tested prior to integration with the target hardware. Easy to use state of the art computer aided engineering tools with self documentation facilities contribute to fast and efficient system configuration.
Internal testing and subsequent client Acceptance Testing are against a formal Test Specification based on the approved FDS, to confirm the robustness of the complete system prior to delivery.
When the system arrives at the client's site, experienced site engineers and technicians are available to supplement the client's own personnel throughout system installation, integration with existing equipment and commissioning. Our experienced engineers adopt a professional approach to problem solving and are fully committed to client satisfaction.
Full documentation, training and support services are available for all systems supplied.
